I provide inspiring, effective and practical training to enable practitioners and teachers to gain much needed support with children’s behaviour and emotions. If you or your team are feeling overwhelmed or worried, this training is designed to help you feel empowered and supported. You can arrange a face to face training session (see below), click here to book virtual live training or click here to access my video courses which you can access straight away and can be shared by the whole team.
If you are thinking of arranging face to face training and would like to discuss if it is right for your setting, please get in touch to arrange a free of charge chat on the phone or zoom. I offer flexible options with everything from half day or full day to short staff meeting training sessions over Zoom.
Face to Face Training
How we respond to children’s behaviour is directly affected by how we see their behaviour, and by our understanding of what they are trying to communicate. Many teachers and practitioners have great skill sets, but still come up against challenges they struggle to solve. Please see below for more information on the training I provide, and do feel free to get in touch to discuss how I can help your setting and team. The following are some of the topics I cover, but I will always be guided by the challenges you are facing to ensure the training session meets the needs of your setting and team.
Behaviour & Big Feelings: Introduction
We will explore the connection between behaviour and emotions; consider triggers and causes; and introduce concepts such as validation, responsive teaching and co-regulation.
Review of this course: Sarah is fabulous! From her kind and personable manner to her insightful knowledge. She always makes people feel at ease from the moment you speak or meet her. Her passion for wanting the very best for children and families is inspiring. Nursery owner/manager
All about Feelings: teaching children strategies for regulation
This training course can be delivered as a half or full day course. We will look at activities and resources that can be used to teach children effective strategies for well-being and regulation.
There will be practical demonstrations and a chance for the team to have a go with different activities, exploring how they would use them to support the children they are working with.
Finally, there will be an opportunity to carry out a reflective audit of practice and the environment to enable you to consider how you can make adaptations where needed to support well-being.
Attachment in the Early Years
The session will include attachment theory, attachment classifications, the Strange Situation Test, as well as information about how attachment affects children's emotions, behaviour and social relationships.
Online Training Videos
I also provide a range of easy to access, affordable and inspiring courses all about behaviour, emotions and well-being for those working in early years. Topics include ‘reframing behaviour’, ‘connection based practice’ and ‘big feelings and the brain’.
My staff have loved your training videos…they all found them interesting & helpful and felt that they would apply the training in the setting. Best response I’ve ever had to online training and the positive feedback was unanimous across the whole team – Tina Hemming-Stevens, Owner, Rainbow’s End Montessori Preschool
