Difficult Conversations: Talking to Parents about Children’s Behaviour

Difficult Conversations: Talking to Parents about Children’s Behaviour

When children are struggling, we find ourselves in the position of talking to parents and families about what is happening, and why it might be happening. These conversations are sensitive, and have the potential to be difficult for those involved.

During this course we will consider how best to start and continue meaningful conversations with parents and families.

During this course you will learn:

  • What parents need from us when ‘behaviour’ happens
  • How to have successful sensitive conversations
  • Using incident forms appropriately and effectively
  • How to approach conversations about involving external professionals
