Toddlers – Why They Do What They Do & How to Respond

Toddlers are fascinating. They are curious, determined, on a mission for independence, remarkably focused, and learning constantly. This makes them wonderful to work with.

It also brings challenges as we navigate how to balance their drive for autonomy and exploration, while also keeping them safe and helping them to understand the world around them.

This course explores why toddlers do the things they do, and how we can best support them through the inevitable challenges.

During this course you will learn:

  • Emotionally safe spaces for toddlers
  • What toddlers need from their communication with adults
  • Setting boundaries in the toddler years
  • Realistic expectations for toddler behaviour
  • Responding to big feelings in the toddler years
  • Why ‘tantrums’, big feelings, and ‘behaviour’ are all a natural part of being a toddler
